1.航海术语weigh anchor的意思并不是指称（weigh）一下锚（anchor）的重量，而是指“起锚”。
2.短语pipe down 也是如此。Pipe down的意思是“静下来、使安坐”，现在的家长或老师常用它来训斥那些不守规矩、闹哄哄的小孩。但许多人却不知道，这个短语也来源于航海业。Pipe 指的是商船水手长的小哨子。水手长可以用它吹出不同的音调，向水手们传达命令。当水手长吹响哨子的时候，就表示让水手们停工或解散队列。当水手们离开之后，甲板上就突然变得寂静起来。后来，pipe down 逐渐变成了航海行话，意指“安静下来、闭嘴”。

不是 滞港费是来码头上收取的 滞箱自费是船公司收的。滞箱费的英文是 container detention charge ，又叫箱使费，一般免费期是7天。 滞港费也叫堆存费， 集装箱在码头上可以免费堆放这个期限一般7天，有一些港口3天左右，超期就会产生滞港费。

海运的优点：
海洋运输是国际贸易中最主要的运输方式，国际贸易总运量中的三分之二以上，我国绝大部分进出口货物，都是通过海洋运输方式运输的。海洋运输的运量大，海运费用低，航道四通八达，是其优势所在。但速度慢，航行风险大，航行日期不易准确，是其不足之处。
基本术语：
1、转租合同 租船人和下家之间订立的合同。
其合同的条款条件与租船人和船东订立的合同（常称为Head contract）相同。订立相同条款的目的是保证租船人将可能要付给下家的任何款项，比如速谴费，都可以从船东那里收回。
2、空载行驶
在两港间空载航行，船舶不得不空载的原因：（1）在卸货港没有可装运的货物；（2）有些情况下，船舶在两港之间可能有一系列航次运输，但只有一个方向的货物适合运装；（3）、另一些情况是。空载驶往某港口去装运高运费的货物，比装着低运费的货物驶往该港可能更合算。
3、费率等级
航运公司或班轮公会运价表上的一个种类，每个种类包括一个单费类和适用于该费率的一组商品。这些等级被变成号码便于识别，前面可能加上W或M，表明运费是按重量还是按尺寸计算的。
4、附加滞期费
由于未在约定的滞期内完成装卸，根据情况而由航次租船人、托运人或收货人付给船东的金额。附加滞期费的日费率在租船合同中约定。
5、回扣佣金
船东付给租船人的佣金，以运费或租金的百分比表示，通常为2. 5%。虽然此佣金被租船人作为减少运费或租金的手段，但有可能被船东调整。
6、班轮运输
航运公司提供的一种服务，货船定期在预定的公告的装卸港之营运。运费按照该公司运价表的费率计算。
